Raul is BIG!

Raul became Real Madrid's record appearance holder in all competitions when he played in his 709th game for the club on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

Los Merengues' captain has had a star-studded career that has seen him already top several charts, and now he has overtaken Manuel Sanchis at the top of another.

Having edged past the former Madrid skipper in the league appearances stakes last month, Raul has now turned out more than anyone for the club in overall terms.

During his time in the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 32-year-old has won the Champions League on three occasions - 1998, 2000 and 2002 - and six league titles - 1995, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2008.

Now he wants to continue playing at the highest level and to add more silverware to an already impressive collection.

Raul is the Champions League all-time leading scorer with 65 goals and he tops Spain's scoring charts with 44, also having scored the most league goals for Real Madrid (216) and the most ever for the club (315).
